Dishes For Your 2021 Thanksgiving

Hi there baker friends!  Happy (almost) Thanksgiving!

With my favorite holiday coming up in no time, I’ve been deep in my menu planning, as I’m sure many other food-lovers are.  I thought it would be a good idea to gather a few of my favorite recipes that would work for Thanksgiving that I’ve developed in the last year and put them in one place for easy access.  I hope this is helpful for you, and that you all have absolutely lovely holiday seasons!

Appetizers

Green Olive Deviled Eggs

While it was never much of a thing in my own family, I have definitely come to appreciate the tradition of deviled eggs on Thanksgiving. These particular ones are so nicely savory, salty, and packed with flavor! They also look lovely to boot.

Zucchini Rough Puff Pastry Tart

This gorgeous tart is a perfect appetizer for a small Thanksgiving get-together.  It’s beautiful and impressive, and can even be prepped ahead of time (one less thing to slave over on turkey day)!

Side Dishes

Gooey Three Cheese Mac and Cheese

I always like to include some sort of creamy side dish in a Thanksgiving meal. This creamy, cheesy, luscious mac and cheese is the perfect choice for that, and is actually going to be featured on my table this year!

Autumn Waldorf Salad

I think it’s great to have a fresh element on the holiday table to offset all the rich deliciousness with a little palette cleanser. This waldorf salad is fruity, crunchy, and full of fall flavors like apples, cranberries, and walnuts.

Autumn Pasta Salad

If you live somewhere where every season feels like a midwest summer, this fresh and cold side dish might be the one for you.  Packed with sweet and savory autumnal flavor and dressed with a light honey mustard dressing, this salad is perfect for a hot-weather holiday.

Desserts

Sweet and Salty Peanut Butter Mousse Pie

While pumpkin and apple pies will always reign supreme at Thanksgiving, I’ve been having fun mixing it up the last few years! If you prefer an untraditional dessert for Thanksgiving, this one is a creamy, delightful crowd pleaser (especially if you have a lot of Reese’s lovers in your life)!

Brown Butter Apple Galettes

If you’re having a smaller Thanksgiving this year and are into personalizing everyone’s dining experience, these are great. It’s like a tiny apple pie, but amped up with crisp homemade pastry and rich brown butter. People will be talking about these delicious morsels until next Thanksgiving.

I hope you enjoyed this round-up of delicious dishes and found it helpful! Have a wonderful thanksgiving. And, if you’re up for it, leave me a comment telling me what you’re thankful for this year! I’d love to read them!
