Welcome to Your Baker Friend!
Hey! My name is Ace. I’m a baker, a friend, a wife, a home cook, a pet parent, a painter, a sleepy human, and a lover of butter.
I’m so pleased that you’re here, reading Your Baker Friend! I hope it can be a great future resource for your family dinners, holiday parties, and solo cake cravings.
I live in Portland, Oregon, but moved here after two years in Ann Arbor. I was born and raised in the heart of Wisconsin with a strong respect for cheeses, seasons, and fresh eggs.
I’ve been a professional baker for about 6 years now. Most of that time, I was working toward the eventual goal of opening my own bakery. However, after 2 years of managing a cupcake shop in Ann Arbor, I realized bakery ownership wasn’t for me, and had to think long and hard about what my next big step would be.
I contemplated what it was that I loved so much about food. Most of the best memories I had with food had one thing in common - sharing it. I spent so much of my life cooking for others, and being my friends’ “baker friend”. All I wanted to do was use my food to make other people happy!
So, I started Your Baker Friend to share my life, my recipes, and my love for food with everyone. I want my recipes to be accessible to cooks of all skill levels in order to cultivate a love for cooking and baking in as many people as I can. I want the world to be full of “baker friends”!
But, if recipes aren’t your thing, I’ll also be uploading fun tidbits about what it’s like for a midwest gal to live in thriving downtown metropolitan Portland with a husband and four feisty furballs! I have two wonderful cats - delicate little black-furred Sophie and sweet, clumsy viking boy Charlie - as well as two goofy guinea pigs, Domino and Teddy!
I hope you’ll stick around and enjoy my blog. I have so many wonderful recipes and adventures coming up, and I’d love to be able to share them with you. Let’s be baker friends! 🧡
